MASS UPDATES

Simple question!

Does anyone know if Playit live have a mass update facility?

What I am trying to achieve is :

Having two folders  1 = winter jingles    1 = summer jingles.

I would like to be able to mass update each instance in the clocks where Winter jingles are listed in each clock by replacing that entry with Summer jingles.

We operate both short and long periods of sustaining services and our jingles play a very important part in our activities.

But it takes quite a time to check each clock and replace each entry of Winter jingles with Summer jingles and of course it relies on a human to check him/her self to ensure that they have not missed a file to be amended.

Of course no files are removed - just the entry in the clock is amended to read Summer jingles instead of Winter jingles.

Any ideas please.

This would be best achieved by creating a track group for Winter Jingles, and one for Summer Jingles, and populate those as required. Then create a Grouped Track Group called Seasonal Jingles and select either Winter Jingles or Summer Jingles.

Then use the Seasonal Jingles track group in your clocks. It will effectively schedule tracks from the Summer Jingles as per the example above. When it comes to Winter, just change the Seasonal Jingles track group to now use Winter Jingles. When the Seasonal Jingles item is scheduled from your clock it will then schedule the Winter Jingles.

Jason,

Many thanks for the very prompt reply (you must sleep next to the chuffin computer)!

Greatly appreciated the answer to the problem which bugs us with wrong season jingles popping up when least expected and of course makes us look like  we don't care about taking  care.

Regards the LP situation,  well the learning curve has just got a bit steeper without us picking up a wrap across the knuckles this time!   Thank you for that tip.

Lastly we did crack the problems we were having with monitored files not showing the file name and it was down to the fact that we had to edit the files in the drop box directory by deleting the file name and removing  some of the properties from the file .   It now works well except when the News company create new files that we are not made aware of!       If this is info you require please shout and I will explain fully.

Many thanks again.

Best regards
