VT Mic Issue

Set up VT previously after much tweaking in Win settings all ok. About to subscribe today and cannot get the Mic to record, error shown 'failed to record channel for Device 0', 


Screen shots attached.


Checked and checked again all Win audio settings all appear ok and can record/playback Mic audio.


Stuck! Any ideas appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Barry. 


This message is shown when the software cannot start a recording from the input device. This is normally because the device is being used by another software. What other software is running in the background including those running in the notification area (system tray). Anything like Zoom, Discord, Skype, Teams, Google Meet, Slack, WhatsApp etc. 


In addition, Windows can block the microphone because of Privacy Settings. Or other antivirus programs even. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Ensure access is enabled for PlayIt VoiceTrack. 


In addition, disable exclusive mode for your recording device under Sound Settings -> Sounds Control Panel. Locate your recording device and right click Device Properties > Advanced. Then uncheck “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.”
