It depends on what the D&R Airlite can do.
For the "remote start" plug in to work you need "MIDI standard protocol" from the Airlite.
I've an older D&R mixer which just produces switch closures and I have an iterface (intended for arcade machines) that makes closures into key presses.That drives PlayIt Live well but doesn't solve your problem.
If the Airlite can be persuaded to make key presses that look like a keyboard that might do the job.
I see from the D&R website there is talk of a keyboard mapper:
