Since you’re using SAM Broadcaster on a separate computer for encoding and streaming, you’ll need to get the track information from PlayIt Live to that second computer. The best way to do this is to use PlayIt Live’s Now Playing feature to write the current track information to a text file that SAM Broadcaster can access. In PlayIt Live, go to Tools and select Now Playing. Click Add New under Targets and select Text File as the target type. Choose a file path that SAM Broadcaster can access, either on a network share or using a cloud folder that syncs between both computers. In the Template field, use {{artist}} - {{title}} to format the track information. You may want to add a filter to ensure only music tracks send metadata by clicking Add New under Filters and selecting a filter type such as track type equals Song. Once this is set up, PlayIt Live will continuously update the text file with the currently playing track information. You’ll then need to configure SAM Broadcaster to read from this text file and send that information to your streaming server. The specific method for this will depend on SAM Broadcaster’s capabilities, but most broadcasting software can read from a text file and update the stream metadata accordingly. You may need to consult SAM Broadcaster’s documentation or support for the exact steps to configure it to read external metadata from a file.
