Ensure that you have entered {{text}} into the Target Settings. This ensures that the appropriate template is used depending on whether a song is playing or not.
Having a similar issue but when sending to an Icecast instance. Excluded categories would show the "-" symbol instead of the fallback text.
Everything appears to be set up correctly. I've just enabled a separate target which is txt file and surprisingly, it'll display the fallback title there.

so im having a small issue and i have no clue how to fix it.
when i am playing a song the metadata does send song name and title to the .txt file however when i stop playing and talk, the system will send blank metadata ' - ' to the txt file instead of the fallback txts (which is my shows name), how can i let playitlive show like my show name when nothing is playing? below is a pic which is my setting for my now playing plugin.
