I know it is possible to create clocks with just timed elements (like commercial breaks, IDs, etc.) and use the playout pattern to build a playlist dynamically.
However, I need to be able to do this with an imported m3u playlist covering a full 24-hour day instead of a simple playout pattern.
Of course, I've tried doing this, but the result is that the m3u file (which ONLY contains music files, each path on its own line) OVERWRITES the clock scheme.
Any ideas out there on how to MERGE an external m3u song list with a clock containing timed elements?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry I named this "Understanding Events". The solution may involve events - which have completely eluded by grasp! =]
